Longing for Home
In the Footsteps of Guastavino’s Pueblico, mi Pueblo
This program, premiered on April 5, 2022, Carlos Guastavino's birthday, features Carlos Guastavino's songs and piano pieces inspired by this beloved town San José del Rincón, Santa Fe, Argentina, where the composer is buried. It includes historical recordings of the song Pueblito, mi Pueblo, with Guastavino at the piano, and recordings made during the composer's visit to China in 1956. Guests include musicologist and Guastavino scholar Silvina Luz Mansilla, and Brazilian doctoral candidate at the UBA Cléber Mauricio de Lima.
